Coming to foreign country is always very exciting, especially when you have opportunities to visit different cities. As my friends, also students, live in Glasgow, they were so kind and invited me there for weekends. I was so happy, because heard a lot of positive about this city. So two hours going by bus and I am in Glasgow. I was there once then I arrived in Scotland my plane landed in Glasgow, but I did not have opportunity to see it, because it was late and I needed to go to Dundee. This time my friends organized me an excursion around the city, firstly we went to University of Glasgow, it was amazing, this building really inspired me and I think it is so exciting to learn there because of the atmosphere, it looks such mysterious so I filled myself as a here of Harry Potter’s story. Then we were walking in the park, feeding squirrel and ducks. Finally we went to the centre of the city; the architecture and building are really great there so I get a lot of positive emotions. Next time I am going to visit Edinburg, so I will have opportunity to compare this two cities

Developing Habitat project
Our six long week project is developing every day, and in the end of every week we need to present our work. This week we started with making volumetric model of the building. First of all we need to think about requirements of the inhabitants, how much space they need, how often they will use this rooms, after we needed to find information about the sizes of different types of rooms and finally we made colored boxes of card, using different colors’ to show different rooms. When the technical work was done, started more creative stage, we placing these boxes on our site model, thinking how the building will look like. It was very exciting to do this, because it helped to make a concept about the project, to feel the form and structure of building, to try different ideas. So during week the form of the building was developing till we arrived at our strong and clear idea. Only after this we started to draw plans and sections of the buldings, here we faced with some issues, for example for wide must be walls, where to place stairs and what is the length of steps, all this problems helped to solve huge METRIC HANDBOOK, which has all basic material about the building. This week is ended and a lot of work was done, but next week we will have formative assessment, so we must be ready for hard work, because time is going very quickly.
Expressive drawing workshop
During our studies we have great opportunities to have exciting workshops , which develop our imagination and drawing skills. One of such workshops was last week, when we needed to draw small object in a large scale. We were free in choosing techniques, we could use pencil, charcoals, pastels, conte, crayon, coloured pencil. First of all we needed to bring an object we are going to draw. I took some objects from home, but Bob McGilvray brought some interesting natural objects and I found one, which really inspired me and started to transpose it to A2 sheet of paper. I find such drawing very useful, because usually we draw large objects in smaller scale, but here we needed to do opposite We were working about an hour, but time went really quickly, it means that we was so busy working, that even did not noticed this time. I was so inspired of this that even at home I tried to make my drawing more effective.
